    ZhyperMU Forum Rules

    Welcome the Zhyper MU Community
    In order for your stay to be as pleasant as possible, and to maintain order, we have devised a set of rules that we expect everyone to follow. Please take your time and read through them.




    Section 1
    General Behaviour

    1a. Show respect to members and staff members alike. Everyone is here to have fun. Do not discriminate due to gender, race, religion, background and preferences. We are all individuals with our own unique quirks. Refrain from using derogatory, irritating, harassing and provocative language.

    1b. Please do not name and shame. If you need to report someone for a rule violation use the report forms provided on this page. Any public reports will be close and/or deleted.

    1c. If you wish to contact a particular person, please use either the Private Messaging or Visitor Messaging function. Do not create a thread dedicated to them unless there is absolutely no other option.

    1d. Do not impersonate or misrepresent any member of our community. Any such behaviour will be dealt with swiftly.

    1e. If you have a disagreement with a staff member, feel free to take it up with their seniors. If you have an issue with a Moderator, contact a Lead Moderator. For an issue with a Game Master, contact a Head Game Master. For an issue with a Head Game Master or Lead Moderator, contact the Administrator or Community Manager respectively.

    1f. Advertising another server will get you instantly banned.


    Section 2
    Posting Rules

    2a. Please post according to topic and remember that quality is better than quantity. We have special sections such as the Spam Zone, where you may go off-topic as you see fit. The rest of the forum is covered by this rule however, and any threads started there will be about that particular topic alone.

    2b. Do not double post. If you remember that you have something else to add, feel free to use the edit option after you post. If you are unable to, contact a moderator to help you with this issue via the "Report Post" option.

    2c. Abusing the Reputation System is not allowed. Please refrain from granting reputation for silly posts, or trading reputation for your own ego. If you are caught doing this, you will receive a warning, and if you continue to break this rule, your reputation will be disabled.

    2d. Do not, under any circumstance, post obscene/pornographic/disturbing material on this forum. There are kids browsing these forums, and we do not with to expose them to such images. What is considered obscene is at the discretion of the forum moderators. In some cases you may get away with a warning or infraction. Severe cases will lead to a ban anywhere from 1 month to 3 months. Absurd cases may even lead to a permanent ban.

    2e. Please use English at all times. Some foreign words are allowed if needed to get a point across, but we are a multinational community, and the one language we all have in common is English. We have special foreign community sections which you can use as you desire to speak in your native language.

    2f. Do not bump your threads too early. Each section has an allotted amount of time between bump posts.
    Suggestions (12hs); Help Board (6hs); Events (6hs); Challenge (6hs); Trade Assistance (6hs); General Discussion (6hs); Entertainment & Creativity (12hs); Guilds Recruit (6hs), Market Section (6hs), GFX Zone (12hs), and Expanded Community (12hs).
    Other sections may have their own bumping rules, so please read stickies before posting.



    Section 3
    Signature Rule

    3a. Signatures are based off a point system whereas the total points in a signature are 7 points. This is done to prevent exaggerated signatures from our more enthusiastic members.
    If you are ever in doubt, feel free to contact a moderator and ask for a signature size check prior to using the signature.
    Key points to remember:



    • Image: Your signature must not exceed 7 point as per the list below.
    • Image: You may only have a total of 2 userbars in your signature if you have a Signature Image. Alternatively, you may choose to have 3 userbars as long as there is no Signature Image present.
    • Image: Maximum Signature Image height is 250 horizontally, and 400 vertically. Please refer to the chart below for more detailed sizes.
    • Text: You may only use up to size #3 text with a Signature Image and a maximum of font size #5 at any point in time.
    • Text: The size of a text line is equal to the largest font used in that line.
    • Quotes will count as normal text if they are over size #2.
    • Quotes: If you are asked by the the person you have quoted to remove said quote from your signature, you must comply.
    • Quotes: Quoted text still falls under the font size rules, but only the text inside the quote will be counted towards the signature allowance(this means that the "Originally posted by: xxx" message will not be counted towards the points).



    The following table will determine how many points each item will require:

    3b. You are not allowed to use the work, image or property of another user without their permission. The owner of the item has full rights over it and can request it to be removed at will. If such item is gifted/sold to you, than the rights belong to you.

    3c. Quoting a user in your signature is fine as long as it complies with the signature point system. However, if the user you have quoted requests that you remove his quote from your signature, you must comply.


    Section 4
    Market Rules

    4a. Trading Zhyper MU items to the following returns is prohibited and may be punished with both a forum and in-game ban.


    • Real currency, regardless of country.
    • Virtual currency that can, at any point in time, be purchased with real currency, regardless of whether or not it can be earned through trades, gameplay and events.
    • Load, phone credit and other such currencies.
    • Other MU online servers.


    4b. Trading ZMU items for items in other video games is not allowed, but will not get you banned. However, your thread will be instantly deleted and you will receive a formal warning. In the event that you complete such a trade in private and you get scammed, Zhyper Staff will provide no assistance whatsoever as this type of trade is not legal.

    4c. Zhyper MU forums are not a private market. Do not sell your sofas, TVs, laptops or any other such items on this forum. We only allow the marketing of Zhyper in-game items.

    Please note that a moderator may deem an item illegal to trade at any point in time without warning, in which case your thread will be closed or deleted and you will be notified by Private Message to not attempt further trading of said item or service.


    Section 5
    Privacy Rule

    There are many private platforms within the community forum. Such platforms include guild halls, private messaging, staff halls and anything that is said in confidence behind closed doors. As such, we must apply a set of rules for these private platforms.


    5a. Any posts within a guild hall may only be released to public by a guild hall moderator. A guild hall moderator may tell you privately of the affairs of his guild hall, but you may not reveal it to anyone else unless the guild hall moderators allow it.

    5b. Private messages are, as the name implies, private. If a user sends you a private message, you must not reveal it to the public, regardless of what the message contains. If the message is against the forum rules, report it to a moderator at once. Do not take matters into your own hands.

    5c. It is absolutely prohibited for any staff members to reveal private staff hall information without the consent of their respective senior. Staff hall information is sensitive and may be misinterpreted, therefor causing damage to image and reputation of some members.


    Section 6
    Miscellaneous Rules

    6a. Promoting illegal substances such as drugs, alcohol and illegal practices such as prostitution, child abuse and so on it not allowed, and will be dealt with according to the severity of the case. The majority of users on this forum are teenagers, and everyone should keep that in mind before discussing adult topics.

    6b. Posting referral links to websites in which you stand to gain is allowed as long as you clearly state that this is a referral link and what you will gain from it. Attempting to hide such link or not mentioning that the link is a referral will get it deleted and you may suffer some extra consequences for it.

    6c. All event prizes which are not granted immediately have a 1 week expiry date. That means that from the time you are declared winner, you have 1 week to lodge a prize request otherwise your forfeit the prize.


    Section 7
    Chatbox Rules

    The chatbox is a chatting platform available to members who have earned a tag/rank on the forums. It may also be sometimes available for regular members, during weekends and holidays. In order to keep it civil, there are a few simple rules you must follow:

    7a. Please chat in English at all times. The majority of the community speaks English, so it's the best way for everyone to understand eachother. If everyone spoke their own language, it would be chaos.

    7b. Don't instigate fights or over-use obscene words. We get it, you're a tough guy. No need to swear at us for it.

    7c. Please limit all marketing to the ZhyperMu market sections or in-game. Most people on chatbox aren't interested in trading.

    7d. Please limit yourself to a maximum of 5 messages in a row. If nobody is replying, then maybe nobody is there, or you need to find something more interesting to say.

    7e. Spamming/senseless repetitive posts are strictly prohibited. Please be reminded that nobody will be glad to see spam/senseless posts on Chatbox.


    7f. If a moderator instructs you to stop doing a particular thing(such as flooding, swearing, trolling, spamming, etc) you are obligated to comply, or you will be removed from the chatbox. Generally such instructions are for the well-being of the chatbox.


    Section 8
    Final Notes

    8a. Whilst the rules of the forum are presented in this thread, moderators may bend them on a case to case basis. This means that if you do something that is not technically against the rule, with the appropriate reasons and proof, a moderator may bend the rule to suit the situation.

    8b. These rules may be changed by the Admin, Assistant Admin, Community Manager and Lead Moderators at any point in time with no warning. A post notifying of an update will be made in this thread as well as a force read for everyone. There will be no excuse such as "I didn't read the rules."

    Forum rules have been updated to better reflect the evolution of our community.

    Some rules have been expanded, others have been removed.

    Please pay extra attention to section 8, as it basically gives moderators more freedom in dealing with cases not completely covered by the rules. Should you ever feel that a moderator is abusing his power, please report to a senior immediately.

    Section #3a has been updated.

    In lieu of the section #3a regarding Usertitle,

    If you used an image for your UT, the size is 150width x 15height.

    If you used a text (w/ or w/o effects) for your UT, it should be 1 line only.
